After the revolution of 1959, Cuba received a nickname “the island of freedom” and became a symbol of liberation movement for Latin America. National park Sienaga de Zapata is the largest guarded territory on the island with its area of 600 000 hectares. Here inhabit more than 3000 Cuban crocodiles and Cuban iguanas – one of the smallest in size kinds of frogs.

Cuba is a unique fusion of religious traditions. Catholicism is very widespread here, there area lot of churches, but Cubans rarely attend them. African cults in conjunction with Catholicism gave a special Cuban cult – Santeria, which is close to voodoo.
